LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS
The difference between LNG, LPG and CNG/NGV is clear again, what is the difference and what is it used for?
  • LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG)

    • Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is methane gas that is liquefied by separating contaminants and elements such as carbon dioxide. Then reduce the temperature to -160 degrees Celsius. To transform from gas to liquid at atmospheric pressure. As a result, there is a decrease in volume of about 600 times that of the gas state. To facilitate transportation to places with long distances, mainly by boat. When it is to be used, LNG is put into the process to return it to its original gaseous state. before further delivery to the gas pipeline system.

  • FEATURES

      • Colorless, odorless Non-toxic and non-corrosive.

      • Difficult to catch fire, but if the concentration of LNG evaporation in the atmosphere is in the range of 5% – 15%, it may cause a fire.

      • Lighter than air When leaking, it evaporates, spreads quickly into the air.

  • BENEFITS

      • Used as fuel to generate electricity.

      • Used as fuel for industrial plants.

      • Used as fuel for motor vehicles.

  • LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG)

    • Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or liquefied petroleum gas that we are familiar with in household use is called “cooking gas”. Propane and Butane

  • FEATURES

      • No soot and ashes

      • Colorless and odorless, ethyl mercaptan is added to warn us of leaks.

      • Easy to catch fire

      • Lighter than water but heavier than air When a gas leak occurs, it floats low to the ground.

  • BENEFITS

      • Used as household cooking gas.

      • Used as fuel for LPG vehicles.

  • COMPREDDED NATURAL GAS (CNG/NGV)

    • Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is the natural gas that is compressed into tanks used to fill NGV vehicles. It must therefore be stored in an ultra-strong tank such as steel or fiberglass.

  • FEATURE

      • It is difficult to catch fire and is a safer fuel than LPG used in automobiles.

      • Lighter than air When a gas leak occurs, it rises to high altitudes and spreads quickly into the air.

  • BENEFITS

      • Used as fuel for NGV vehicles, it is more suitable than LPG because it is difficult to ignite and has low exhaust emissions.
